Where's the van!?
Much to the displeasure of Heat fans everywhere, it was announced last week that the PlayStation Network exclusive Payday: The Heist would be getting delayed for some last minute fine-tuning.

Said finagling didn't take too long, as it was yesterday announced via the PlayStation Blog that Payday will finally be robbing banks and busting vaults on Oct. 18. That's, like, next Tuesday.

The team over at Overkill didn't have any new details to share, but a new "Slaughterhouse" video was released for your viewing pleasure. You may begin said pleasurely viewing following the break.

Luigi (570 x 428).jpg
Yes, folks. You heard right. Trailer Trash has made a real trailer for a fake Luigi's Mansion movie. As you well know, I love these. Especially when they have good production and goofy accents and pay homage to one of my favorite GameCube games.

Which is exactly what this one has and does. So, please, do yourself a favor and trust me. I have a good eye for wonky shit like this.

Plus, have I ever let you down? Nope. Didn't think so.

Battlefield 3 Trailer Blows Some Shit Up

Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 3:00 pm
The crew at DICE is very proficient at realism. Say what you will about the content they explore -- I like to whine and moan about war video games -- but it is tough to argue that the worlds they create are anything less than brilliant representations of the real world. Physics, textures, and atmosphere are scary real.

And, as it happens, they deal a lot with explosions. From what I can surmise, there are a lot of explosions where tanks and bombs and stuff are concerned, and damage to the surrounding area can be pretty substantial. So, DICE has built that into Battlefield 3. It is an impressive thing to witness.

Be-Behind...Behind you!!!
One nice thing about a digital marketplace is that it allows publishers to take chances with niche titles that would prove too risky a venture for physical formats.

For instance, Xseed would like to cordially invite you to a Corpse Party. Many-a morbid North American gamer has been dying to get their hands on this particular title and, this fall, the game is being released digitally via PSN.

A distinctly Japanese--and extremely violent--tale of vengeful spirits and doomed high school students, Corpse Party's announcement trailer (embedded below) promises this will be a shindig horror fans won't want to miss.

New Lord of the Rings: War in the North Video Heads to the Dark and Sinister Barrow-Downs

Monday, October 10, 2011 at 5:00 pm

The war's heading north
Fans of the Lord of the Rings series know that the Barrow-downs are not exactly the vacation destination for Middle-earth families looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Shire living. As a matter of fact, there are few places more dark and sinister than these festering cesspools of death and decay.

As Lord of the Rings: War in the North approaches its Nov. 1 release date, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer Snowblind Studios want to let gamers know more about the types of baddies they'll be facing in what looks to be the most "adult" LotR game yet.

The new "Boss Vignette" video follows the break, showcasing the Barrow-downs and the Barrow-wight Lord that you and your fellowship will be aiming to take out once War in the North launches early next month.

Watch This Gorgeous PlayStation 3 Ad

Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 3:00 pm
No, not much new to report here. There's no God of War IV, Metal Gear Solid 5, or an MMO of MLB 2012: The Show. It isn't a PlayStation 4. This video isn't anything but a brand advertisement.

However, it is set apart from most other advertisements. It is brilliant. And the production value is exceptional. I suggest everyone takes a look at it, especially if you are a Sony faithful. You won't regret it. It might just be the most warming thing you see on this day.
