New God of War Game "Ascension" Trailer Here!

Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10:00 am

Just when you think you've had too much Kratos for one lifetime, Sony pumps out this gem of a trailer. The teaser isn't what you'd expect. It isn't Kratos hitting shit and looking generally pissed off. Instead, it is a trailer of beginnings. What he was before he was hitting shit and generally pissed off all the time.

Now, that's not to say that you should expect anything different when the game releases, because what's happening to Kratos is going to make him pissed. And hitting shit is what Kratos does when he's pissed. Which is all the time.

More details to come!

If you're currently enjoying Diablo III's beta, then you will be alarmed but not surprised to find that your lovely little beta you love so much is gonna be shut down, effective May 1, 2012. So, you can stop leveling up your Barbarian, because he's going to disappear like DB Cooper into the night once they shut down, and never ever exist again.

Sorry to bum you out, but you don't have to wait long until Diablo III the full game comes out -- look for that one May 15, 2012. Or so they promise.

PSA: Crysis 3 Announced By EA

Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 10:00 am
EA, allegedly the worst company in fucking America, has announced the third entry in its tech-stretching shooter franchise Crysis, with its aptly named Crysis 3.

There are already a ton of details available on that site there, first and foremost that the game is scheduled for release February of next year. Also, it will take place in an "urban rainforest," with players commanding Prophet as he returns to New York City. Also, he'll have a bow that can shoot high-tech arrows and a Nanosuit that will be more versatile than ever before.

We'll keep you in the know as more related information comes forth, which will likely be a checklist of incredible visuals, landscapes and specifications too extreme for your computer to handle.

Star Command Is Blowing Up Mobile Devices This Summer

Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 4:00 pm
Honestly, casual and social games hold my attention for about... wait, what were we talking about again? haHA!

Get it? I don't care that much about Angry Birds or Words With Friends or whatever. Great for a few minutes but then they're just snoozes. So I don't spend much energy on them.

But Star Command is getting a release window of "this summer" from its devs Warballoon. Watch this trailer -- it is pretty intriguing, and something I'll look to download when it drops. Ship management isn't usually my steez, but I'm teased for now.

Dropping for all iOS and Android devices.

Dark Souls Is Torturing PCs In August

Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 10:00 am
Namco Bandai is siccing its fuckin' fierce action title Dark Souls on the Games for Windows Live platform on August 24, 2012. The fantasy horror title, which has a reputation for being both painfully difficult and refreshingly satisfying, has been destroying lives for console games at a rate of about a hundred thousand players per week for the last six months. Now, PC gamers can join in on the slaughter.

Whether or not you've hated on the GFWL platform, just be happy you can enjoy this souped up version of the game. It features expanded gameplay and some new bosses. Which is rad, and will be the envy of every console gamer out there.

Borderlands 2 Gets A New Character, More Stuff

So, the days of the one-hot-chick-three-beefy-dudes in the Borderlands universe are over. The Mechromancer, featured in the picture above, will join the cast of Gearbox's upcoming crawler-shooter. And she is bringing a scrappier, more hands-dirty, femininity to balance out the game's heavy masculine overtones. She's part robot, part human, and also a little scary looking.

Along with her, attendees at PAX East this weekend learned that the game will feature some significant character customization across all the characters, with clothing and armor articles that will be earned as the story plays out.

Borderlands 2 will release September 18, 2012. The Mechromancer isn't going to make the release date, but she'll be available for free to all pre-orderers, and after the fact for a price.
