We've got another GearFest tip for you today, and it's about portable sound. I don't know about your gadgets, but the speakers on my laptop, tablet and portable gaming devices all suck. The Edifier Sound To Go Bar definitely does not.
This speaker bar includes a subwoofer, two mid-range drivers and two tweeters in a single slick aluminum unit and hooks up either via USB or a standard headphone jack (both detachable cables are included). Between those two connections, it works with your PC, tablet, iPhone, Blackberry, PSP, Vita, 3DS, Nokia N-Gage or basically any other device you can name. I've been using it with my desktop, tablet and 3DS.
How does it sound? Really good on every device. While it's not heavy on bass, it's a shockingly loud and clear device that delivers a lot of sound without the mess of multiple satellite speakers. I love that it comes with its own carrying case and works seamlessly on every device I've tested it on. Best of all, it only costs around $50. I wouldn't claim that this simple one-pound sound bar will replace your computer's speaker system if you like full sound, but it's definitely the best travel sound solution I've seen to date.
