"Get over here... to this contest!"
It's Friday, which means it's the perfect time for a contest. We haven't done one for a while, so we're overdue. So let's get to it, shall we?

Who likes cool T-shirts? I know I do. Especially ones with three wolves howling at the moon together. This one doesn't, but it's still plenty badass.

Our pals at apparel company 604 Republic sent us a link to their latest gaming shirt the other day, which is a clever take on what a certain fighting game character might be doing if he wasn't pulling out people's spines. Of course, 604 Republic were more than happy to give one shirt away to Joystick Division readers. For the rules and a bigger look at the design, hit the jump!

Well, every day I write a post about how fucking insane this fall is, in terms of AAA releases and sequels. But single copies of many of those games are going to be sitting on their retail shelves a few days longer than expected, as I have now turned my attention to Valve's upcoming offering. I will put off purchases until further notice.

Valve just hit my inbox with a very important email. Portal 2 will be receiving a FREE bit of downloadable content for PCers, Xboxers, and PlayStationers. And they will be getting it on October 4, 2011. Same day that Rage and Dark Souls drop. So, I guess you know what I'll be playing that day...

Beyond Good & Evil
, when released to the world nigh a decade ago, resonated with its fans so profoundly that the want for a sequel brought about an HD remake for this generation, as well as a lot of speculation for when the second entry would come about. It has been rumored that the 8th Generation (this one being the 7th) will be the lucky ones to receive it. And now we know why.

In an interview with GamesRadar, BG&E creater Michel Ancel goes into pretty good detail about why the only Beyond Good & Evil you'll be playing on your Xboxes and PlayStations is the hi-def remake of the original. I'll give you a quick rundown, and you can find it why this damned sequel is taking so long to produce.

Psychonauts Now On Mac, Free iOS App Available Too

It's not that we're complaining, but Psychonauts on Mac was probably the last thing we were thinking about this week.

Double Fine's classic Psychonauts is now available on Mac OSX. The game's about a psychic summer camp and a young kid saving the world from a mad dentist harvesting brains. It's funny, charming, and features some of the most bizarre level designs we've ever seen in a 3D game. On top of the slightly-odd narrative concept, the game's just really good, aside from a frustrating final level.

The OS X version is now on Steam. If you owned the PC version, you now have it on Mac. Steam's also added a few new features, and we'll tell you about them all after the jump.

So, there's been a bit of buzz surrounding the discrepancy between the PC graphics and the console graphics of DICE's upcoming epic, Battlefield 3. It is to be assumed, usually, that PCs will look better than their counterparts, but the differences are not always so noticeable.

Let's take a look at how the three competitors stack up to one another, shall we? In this handy little YouTube video, brought to us by YouTuber Robbaz, we get to see the graphics stood up, side by side, for our appraisal. Click to continue.

Guild Wars Winds of Change Phase Two Out Now For Free

Winds_of_Change_3.jpg
This has been a bizarre week for old games getting updated.

Guild Wars was released back in 2005 and was met with warm reception. The game saw several expansions, and is currently awaiting a sequel. It still has a dedicated fan base, but no one was expecting anything new to the six-year old MMO gem.

But then in July Guild Wars saw the first part of Winds of Change, a three-part expansion that will bridge the narrative gap between GW1 and 2. The second part of this free expansion was released yesterday, and it's allegedly the largest free expansion to date.

Eternal Darkness: Lessons Learned From a Decade-old Game

We've come a long way
Halloween is pretty much my favorite holiday. As a result, I like to prepare for the year's spookiest night by overloading my senses with an abundance of horror-themed entertainment.

During the month of October, if I'm not watching some campy gore-fest, I'm likely diving into a video game geared at scaring poop into my pants. As a result, I decided to finally dive headlong into one of my tragically overlooked Gamecube titles, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.

(Pauses to let the boos die down)

Eternal Darkness launched back in 2002. While I certainly enjoyed my time with the game, it also brought to light several changes in the gaming landscape that, until now, I've taken for granted.

Following are my lessons learned from battling madness to save the world in a game that's a decade old.

We Want To Play This Game

Below is a commercial for a video game that never was, one that combines characters from classic TV shows like The A-Team, Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels and many more. It's awesome. You should watch it.

According to Kotaku, it's actually a commercial for the Fox Retro TV station in Italy. If they put this much effort into advertising reruns, what do they do for other products?

Anyway, enjoy.
