The best part of summer -- for me anyway -- is the onslaught of high quality XBLA and PSN titles that seem to release in lieu of the bigger games. It is a time when blockbuster franchises and big publishers are reloading for something big for the holidays, and the "spring fling" is over with.

This week is a perfect example of a great week for independent games -- especially those that heavily involve shadows. Personal computer users will be getting a taste of Playdead's oft-spoken of hit, Limbo. If you've never played it, we all highly recommend you pick it up. And the new arty-farty title Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet will be hitting digital distribution very soon. We also recommend that you give that bad boy a whirl. Because 'tis the season to support the little guys.
