Super Puzzle Platformer's name is enough of a descriptor that not much more is really needed to describe what it is. But just so we're all on the same page -- it's a brick matching platforming game -- think Mr. Driller in reverse and you'll be on the right page. It's a hell of a lot of fun for such a simple concept too, so prepare to waste more than just a few minutes on this one if you're the type to care about leaderboard position.

The premise is simple, but that doesn't make the game any less enjoyable. There is something special about a game with a solid enough mechanic that you feel the uncontrollable desire to continue playing until you've bested your previous high score and Super Puzzle Platformer hits the high-score obsession nail on the head.

Your score is tabulated by breaking large sections of blocks by shooting at them. The blocks fall from the sky while you jump around shooting them -- it sounds kind of dumb, but as you shoot you'll be aligning adjacent blocks of the same color to shoot at for score multipliers. As you clear the screen, you'll have to start avoiding spikes, falling drills and more.

Of course, the longer you survive, the higher your score and the bigger the colored block sections you destroy, the more points you'll get. As you progress, you'll get a better weapons and eventually the falling blocks will start to change patterns.

Visually, Super Puzzle Platformer keeps it simple with retro visuals and brightly colored blocks. That said, the little animation that does exist is fun to watch and is remarkably smooth.

Super Puzzle Platformer will suck away your time -- especially if you're the type of person who is prone to one-upping yourself on high score boards -- consider yourself warned.
