Now: the moment we've all been waiting for. These many months we've peered down the long telescope into the future of video games, and searched desperately, for the exact date we can finally purchase and play Minecraft. It is here. You and me and everyone we know can play Minecraft on November 11, 2011, or, conveniently, 11/11/11.

That's the same day as The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. You've got mammoth beads, Mojang. Debuting your little, blocky-looking title the same day as the fifth entry in Bethesda's venerable francise, that is one hell of a statement. But, even so, I'm just happy. I've been waiting for ages to get my ha-- hey wait a minute.

Ha! Get the joke?? Minecraft has been available since late 2009. It went beta in late 2010, and has now sold over one million copies. It only makes sense that 'beta' will be removed and the actual title will released officially in late 2011. There will literally be no other changes, but Minecraft creator Notch Persson wants it on iOS and Android devices, and to persistently be updated. Which is actually pretty great news.

We'll keep you posted on any other news Minecraftian. You're welcome.
