The game IS being made!
Ever wonder what some of your favorite television shows and movies would look like were they given the Atari treatment?

Well wonder no more, as Robert Penney has taken the liberty of creating some pretty slick posters that show off hits like Avatar and The Dark Knight as classic game titles.

Make a jump past the break to check out some of his creations.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this post is going to be really, really long. Otherwise, the word-bits are almost finished, as Penney's artwork speaks volumes for itself.

We especially appreciate the attention to detail shown on some of these pieces, like the light "box damage," sales stickers, handwritten prices as if they were being sold in a garage sale, and even notes like "missing instruction manual."

To check out the rest of the collection, be sure to visit Penney's store located at Imagekind. If you fall in love with one of the images, they can be purchased in poster size for just $17.08.
