If you haven't heard about last week's Supreme Court hearing involving the state of California and the proposed ban on the selling of violent video games to minors, we're going to need you to go ahead and turn in your nerd card.

Joystick Division alone has published several posts on the controversial case and even linked to summaries of the hearing, as well as the full transcript of the event.

For those who can't be bothered to read, though, we now have your solution.

If you've got about an hour's worth of free listening time, the Supreme Court's website has actually posted an audio file of the oral arguments for your aural pleasure. This link allows you to stream the audio, download it in several formats, and even download your own copy of the typed transcripts so you can follow along at home.

Once again, I'd encourage anyone interested in the culture of video games, those who enjoy more than just playing the things, to check this out for themselves. Even if you don't have an interest in this sort of thing, you should still probably keep yourself informed on the issue. It affects all of us who play and, depending on the outcome, could branch out into pretty much every type of entertainment we take in.
