With a pic like this, I know you'll watch the video without a clever caption
When you play a video game, there's usually a certain suspension of disbelief that must occur in order for you to fully enjoy the title.

Would the cops really give up on chasing you through Liberty City following a 12-person killing spree just because you stayed out of eyesight for 30 seconds? Can the "opposing force" really take a full clip to the chest before hitting the ground? Can plumbers really ride dinosaurs?

Hit the jump for a fun video highlighting why making games realistic would likely sap all of the fun out of the process.

So, no, video games aren't realistic. That's why we call them games. Also, that's a huge part of why we play them. The point is to escape real life and live out some sort of fantasy, whether that be collecting gold rings as a turbo-charged blue hedgehog or single handedly bringing a massive alien invasion to it knees.

Still, there are some out there that will scoff at, say, Master Chief's ability to punch a flipped Warthog until it's once again resting on all four wheels. We like to call those types of people "jerk-faces," and you'd do well to stop hanging out with them.

Here's a peek at what some of your favorite games would be like were they to more accurately resemble the real world.
