| It's like this, but beadier |
That's exactly what Youtube user pixelbeadproject has done. To check out this impressive work, along with pixelbead's take on the Doom title screen, click on past the jump.
Few video game images stand out quite like the one found at the beginning of the Blue Bomber's second outing on the NES. To pay homage to this legendary gaming moment, pixelbeadproject dedicated about 60-70 hours of their time to this beaded creation and an untold number of tiny, colored pieces of plastic.
To get across the magnitude of the project, PBP's video begins zoomed in on a small collection of beads, then slowly pans back to show off the entire piece. It's pretty dang impressive. While the Doom piece is small enough to hang on the wall just about anywhere, the Mega Man II project is about 4.5x4 feet in size...That's a lot of beads.
Be sure to check out videos for both the Mega Man II and Doom bead art below. If any of you readers out there make a hobby of game-inspired art, we'd be glad to hear about it. We may even feature you in a post some day.
