| Oh, sure. Blame the God of War for this. |
Anyone who has played God of War III knows Poseidon holds a pretty big grudge against the newest God of War, but little detail about his reasons for being so angry are given.
While players now have the chance to play Ghost of Sparta and uncover said reasons, it turns out this bit of story was actually planned to be told in God of War II.
In the following video, Sony Santa Monica level designer Johnathan Hawkins (Illegitimate child of Joystick Divison's own James Hawkins) discusses his plans for Atlantis and the sort of activities Kratos was originally planned to take part in there.
Honestly, it's a little depressing to watch. This guy spent half a year working on the level only to be told, "Yeah, we pretty much need to cut it from the game. High five!"
