The past and future will collide next week when the special Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Trilogy Blu-ray collection is released in stores across the country.

While the films in the collection hail from last century, the upcoming episodic downloadable game based on the series is straight out of the future...As in we have no idea when it's even going to be released.

Developer Telltale announced earlier this year that it was working on a five-part continuation of the Back to the Future storyline for Mac and PC.

For those who pick up the Blu-ray movie set when it releases Oct. 26, the package will also include a voucher for a free copy of the first chapter of the game.

With Christopher Lloyd reprising his role of Doc and each chapter likely to explore a different period of time, this seems like a pretty good way to get folks who already love the movies to try out your new game.

And yes, I managed to make it through that entire post without having to say "Great Scott!"
