| DLC, roll out! |
By: Ryan Winslett
Zeta Prime and Dead End join the fight for Cybertron, along with a slew of new maps, all for download today on Xbox Live and PSN.
I don't know about you folks, but I was pretty dang pleased with what High Moon Studios was able to do with the Transformers license in War for Cybertron.
If you had the game on your play list this year, chances are you've still got the wicked end credits theme stuck in your head. If only they'd make that available for download as well.
My love of butt-rock 80s epics aside, those still fighting the good fight in the battle between Autobots and Decepticons will have plenty of reasons to keep the bullets flying with this latest batch of DLC.
Those who pony up the $10 (800 MSP) for Map Pack 2 will have access to both Zeta Prime and Dead End in Escalation mode, as well as the ability to use these characters' chassis in designing their own robots for competitive online play.
Along with the new skins, players will have access to five new maps as well.
In Escalation, Pulse and Static are now available for co-op play. Pulse is an Autobot map that actually goes inside the massive Trypticon, allowing players to explore his mechanical inner workings while blowing stuff up. Static is for the Decepticons, featuring rooms full of environmental traps.
If you prefer waging robotic war in versus modes, three new maps will help spice up your options.
Horizon is a "picturesque statuary" overlooking the war-torn Autobot home city. Those who prefer to charge into battle in vehicle form will appreciate Sector, which offers big, open areas perfect for flying and, ahem, "rolling out." Finally, Metropolis launches players high above Cybertron to duke it out in the bombed-out ruins of an Iacon city building.
There's little pomp and circumstance here. This latest DLC was announced today and is available right now.
