|It's me and my best games!|
We'd be dead in the wrong if we didn't celebrate the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. and all its glory.
And such a celebration of the side-scrolling fun begs a question: What are the best Mario games? Because we know he and the gallery of friends and foes appear in everything - from expansive, puzzling worlds to 18 holes at Koopa Park. Again, everything.
We'll start the conversation with 10 must-haves, paying much attention to the lead-ups to Mario's forays into the Wii universe. But we want to hear you weigh in: what are your picks?
Super Mario Bros.
Happy anniversary, dudes! We remember feeling excited, frustrated (and many other things) when we faced Bowser, lost and started all over.
Super Mario Bros. 3
Yeah, we really like flying around for coins, too. The raccoon get-up was just one of many cool factors in Super Mario Bros. 3.
Um, this is more addictive than Tetris, no? Prescribe the right vitamins to keep down the viruses. We tend to enjoy the "Fever" soundtrack.
Super Mario World
Ah, sweet Yoshi. He can devour almost any bad guy. His introduction - as well as new power-ups - makes Super Mario World a joyride through Dinosaur Land.
Super Mario Kart
Let's think about it: This is probably the most adorable kart game ever, setting the stage for the piles of kart games that would follow. Damn those red turtle shells!
