Star Trek Getting Casual Online Game

Now, after years of demand, Star Trek fans will finally be able to play in their beloved universe online... again. With Star Trek Online targeting the hardcore MMO player, Star Trek - Infinite Space is going for the casual, browser-based market.

Due out next year, Keen Games will be developing a different take to the Star Trek universe. The German developer will be working with Gameforge and the Star Trek experts Denice and Michael Okuda.  
"Star Trek is one of those franchises that every science-fiction fan would give anything to work on. We consider ourselves very lucky to have this opportunity and we are highly committed to delivering a Star Trek experience fans can be proud of," said Keen Games' Creative Director Antony Christoulakis.

Star Trek - Infinite Space will take place in the Deep Space Nine timeline and is set for a 2011 release. Star Trek Online has been live and playable since February. Check that out if you really want to experience the final frontier.
