Ahh I can't wait!!!
The Resident Evil series is one of our absolute favorites here at Joystick Division. You can always expect for us to make a big deal out of little news whenever the two words are mentioned together.

And this is no exception. Kotaku has reported that some information on Resident Evil 6 may be coming quite soon.

No one has any idea if it concerns release dates, consoles, characters, or development personnel, but it doesn't really matter. Just as long as they don't say it is going to take eight fucking years to make a new one, I'll be happy.

More on what we know at this point after the break.

Hope she's in it. She may be kinda slow, but she sure is fine.
The gaming world has heard a little bit about Resident Evil 6 since Resident Evil 5 came out. Mostly, it has just been speculation -- namely that the producers heard the complaints and know that the next one must be a complete series reboot. They understand that Resident Evil 4 and 5 were too similar on a lot of levels, and that a sixth game would have to branch out from that. Which is good news, considering Resident Evil 5 made a strong impression on most people. Hopefully the series will continue to grow.

Also, the project lead for Resident Evil 5, Jun Takeuchi will be absent on the next one. No producer yet has been named, but that will probably be cleared up long before they announce any specific details. And when they do make the announcements, we'll be sure to write pages and pages on every little detail.

This new announcement is probably part of Capcom's plan to put out more games more frequently, after posting awful numbers for the year so far, they've publicly announced a business model change, one that will most certainly benefit the gamers.
