Despite healthy word of mouth, critical acclaim, and even an award or two, Machinarium flew under most gamers' radars last year.
A charmingly designed point and click adventure, Machinarium has players guiding a curious robot through a steampunk world of gadgets, doo-dads and clever puzzles.
It released for PC and Mac in 2009 and soon Wii owners everywhere will have the opportunity to enjoy this creative entry to a dwindling genre.
XGen Studios, the folks behind WiiWare's Defend Your Castle, are working hand-in-hand with Amanita Design to make Machinarium available to the Wii's download service. According to Jordan Dubuc, Director of Operations for XGen, this will give tons of new players a chance to see what Machinarium has to offer.
"As the subject of enormous critical acclaim, this is an honor long overdue for Machinarium," Dubuc said. "We're very fortunate to be working with the talented team at Amanita to share this interactive work of art with a whole new audience of gamers."
No release date has been set, but once it has, I highly recommend anyone in the Wii camp give it a look-see. It's beautiful, enchanting and, really, who doesn't want to help an adorable robot rescue his even more adorable robot girlfriend?
