Raptr, the gaming-centric instant messaging client reports that Modern Warfare 2's player-base has dropped fifty percent since Halo: Reach launched. The latest Call of Duty game held the title of "most played game on Xbox Live" for the last ten months, but it couldn't maintain the force of Bungie's latest game.

Even before Reach dropped several weeks ago, antipation spiked. Halo 3: O.D.S.T.'s traffic increased by a whopping 7500% in a single day. Raptr has a lot of other fascinating stats about the rise of Reach over here, but check out some more interesting tidbits after the jump.
Raptr also reported that most people beat the game in the first week of its release. Completion took an average of 12 hours, but players are spending over 23 hours in Reach. The multiplayer modes seem to be a major hit at the moment, but Gears of War 3, Medal of Honor, and another Call of Duty game are on their way. How will the shooter community diversify later this year?

We'll know for sure later on when further stats are released.
