Regular readers know that we love
the pixelated look of old-school video games here at Joystick Division. But all those square pixels and rough edges can be a little harsh on the eyes after a while. So we're glad that
flickr user soundofdesign has given our eyes a break with
his "cartooned" collections of pleasantly rounded classic game characters.
It's hard to decide which of the
Mario,
Mega Man,
Legend of Zelda and
Street Fighter sets posted so far are the cutest, but we have a sweet spot for the Street Fighter images. Those tiny grins are so sweet and optimistic, we might have to think twice the next time we feel like punching them repeatedly until they're dead.
