My fellow gamers,

I write to you today, a man with heart full of joy and hope.

Joy, that Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath will be given another chance to shine with a PlayStation Network re-release, and hope that those who may have missed out on this criminally overlooked game the first time around will finally take it upon themselves to play a shooter unlike anything they've ever experienced.

Okay, so, Stranger's Wrath wasn't really that revolutionary, but everything else I just said is pretty much true, beginning with the fact that this critically hailed, yet often forgotten entry in the Oddworld saga will be making its way to PSN as an "enhanced remake" next Easter.

It was announced earlier this year that developer Just Add Water was working on a new project with Oddworld Inhabitants, the original creators of the Oddworld games. Not wanting to leave folks in the dark too long, JAW Managing Director Stewart Gilray decided to shed a little light on what was going on behind the scenes.

"Since word got out that we've been working with Oddworld Inhabitants, there have been many rumors circulating about what we're working on," Gilray said. "Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is the first project in what we believe will be a long and fruitful relationship. Having the chance to update this great title and release it on PS3 is just a brilliant opportunity, not just for us, but for the fans, too."

Stranger's Wrath is a unique first and third-person shooter that allows the player to explore Oddworld and load their crossbow with various types of critters as ammo. Different critters cause different effects on impact, making for a wide variety of ways to dispatch your foes.

The game will come with an array of enhancements, including 720p visuals, more character detail, re-mastered dialogue, PlayStation Move support and additional material "still to be revealed."

The series saw new life earlier this year when Abe's Odyssey and Abe's Exodus were added to PSN as PlayStation classics. With Stranger's Wrath joining the party next year, the entire current Oddworld experience will officially be available for download.

If you somehow missed out on the first two titles as well, I'd encourage you to jump in and get a taste of some unique platform-driven puzzling.

I can only take you so far on this journey, folks. The next step is up to you. Don't screw it up this time.
