The Sims Medieval, finally!
Want The Sims with a Chaucerian twist? Do you find your virtual communities lack the proper chivalrous activity? Do you prefer traditional courtly love to hitting on your neighbor until you've worn her down to the point that she'll hop in the sack with you?

Well, you're weird. And lucky. The Sims is going medieval next year. It is a spin-off series -- a huge one, at that.

I've got a lot more information for you. I don't think you have any idea how hard it is to hold back from writing this in Middle English. Yeah, I took a class that taught it and was taught, in large part, in Middle English. Jealous?

I knew you would be. Now hit the link for the full story. And don't make fun of me.

When Spring 2011 rolls around, you're gonna need to be prepared for what to expect. The spin-off is a huge departure from the typical formula -- on that looks incredibly, hilariously, dorky-awesome.

You will select a 'Hero Sim' to control. The Hero will have a number of different customizable stills and traits, with a 'Fatal Flaw' that must be implemented. Hubris, anyone?

In addition to that, the character will be one of a half-dozen or so character types; i.e. a blacksmith, a knight, a bard, etc. You are to tend to daily tasks that are unique to each character, as well as control your kingdom.

The driving force of the game will be the mission system that is in place. The Quests, as they are called, will range from planning a royal wedding to slaying an evil sorcerer to protecting townsfolk. Really, anything that sounds awesome and involves a sword or an ax is game.

The game will cater to the user's playing style, too. If you prefer to stay away from the violence or intense heroics that come with the territory, that's cool. Not a big deal.

Expect a release date in the near future. On PC and Mac only. Electronic Arts is working hard already!
