More like Duke Nukem takes Forever to make.
Duke Nukem Forever
has been started, scrapped, restarted, left in limbo, on hiatus, scrapped, started, zombified, and buried. For over a decade.

Well, add another entry into that long list of production statuses, because it looks like Duke Nukem Forever has a new architect -- Gearbox Software.

Well, that's the rumor anyway.

Kotaku has reported that sources close to the Borderlands developer have hinted very strongly that the long-awaited, still-interesting title will be resurrected in the next few years.

There's been a bunch of goofy litigation that has simultaneously tried to further and hold back the creation of the game. As of right now, 3D Realms (the original developer) is defunct and the publishing rights are held by Take-Two Interactive.

This is all speculation, but there is supposed to be some sort of clarification/unveiling/letdown at PAX Prime 2010. And there have been some stirrings around indicating that a playable demo will be around within the next year. Nothing official, by a long shot, but it would be nice to see this title slide out of the canal and into the bright light of reality.

Lucky for you all, Joystick Division will be out in force at PAX Prime, and we promise that we will bring you the news as soon as it appears.
