| Angry but awesome. |
I know most iPhone/iPod/iPad gamers discovered this little gem long ago. But I didn't, and when it was finally introduced to me a week or two ago, I instantly discovered why it's one of the hottest iPhone games in a long time.
That's why I've decided to write about Angry Birds now, even though it's old news to many of you. Because if you were like me and missed out on this game, I want to help you correct that mistake.
You might think that given all my raving about it, Angry Birds is a groundbreaking, boundary-pushing title. It's not. In fact, it's as simple as can be. But that's a big part of what makes it so awesome.
As you can see in the video above, there are five unique bird types, each with its own distinct abilities. As you progress through the game, the birds themselves become as much a part of the puzzle as the blocks and the pigs - you need to figure out how to use each one wisely, even if you wouldn't think you've got the right bird for the job. In short, despite the simple premise, it's a game that keeps you thinking.
Angry Birds is available for all three of Apple's mobile devices, and is coming to Android phones at some time in the near future. It's packed with dozens and dozens of levels, and on iPhone and iPod, it's only a buck. So what are you waiting for? You may be super-late to the Angry Birds party, but I'm living proof that there's still time to change!
