UPDATE: So this is apparently the Classic Controller Pro, and it's been available in Japan for months now. Thanks to Dread fro pointing this out. As for me, Ball = Dropped. Sorry guys.

Replacement? That IS a Classic Controller. It's just the Classic Controller PRO and it's been available for months.

The Classic Controller PRO was released in Japan in August and it cannot be used to play GameCube games. And it hasn't been exclusive to Japan since November when it was released in Europe.
