NBA Jam Returns?

I don't know what's happening to me. I already wrote about sports games the other day, and now I'm doing it again. It's quite possible that I've been bodysnatched and am now a pod person. I'm gonna have to look into that. Anyway, ESPN is reporting that EA is prepping a Wii-exclusive version of NBA Jam, one of the few sports games the original human Anton ever liked.

The arcade original NBA Jam was published by Midway and the home versions by Acclaim. Both of those companies are dead, so it's quite possible that EA bought the rights to the franchise. ESPN claims that EA has even brought on the game's creator Mark Turmell to consult. If these rumors are true, the new NBA Jam would be one sports game the new improved Alien Anton could get behind.

I'm in. I'll also buy the original NBA Jam if it's released as a Virtual Console title.

Wow, Id love if they brought NBA Jam back. I'd play this arcade a ton at the Nickelcade. I had completely forgotten about this game until I read this article. I hope EA Sports does it justice.
