Steam (And Portal) To Come Pre-Installed On Alienware PCs

Alienware may not be near the name their parent company Dell is in the computer world, but this is still a great move by Valve. It would be incredible to see this partnership work out and Dell include Steam in all their computers.
That sort of deal could bring PC gaming into an entirely new demographic, perhaps allowing Dell and Valve to target casual gamers by including some easy-to-play, addictive games on Steam.
Seems the two companies could be thinking ahead of me because Portal will be included, pre-installed on all machines. That's casual to me, folks!
No doubt this is one pre-installed application gamers can welcome with open arms. I'm calling you out, Internet Explorer; please delete yourself from my computer because I'm not allowed to do so.
Am I the only one who can't wait to hear what Randy Pitchford has to say about this? He probably won't say it with the smile he's wearing in the title image.

People that buy from Alienware, who shell out thousands of dollars for high-end gaming computers, are well aware of Steam. :-P
Posted 12/07/2009 at 06:24:12 PMToo bad alienware compy's are overpriced paperwieghts, 3 years after paying 1400 for a REFURBISHED alienware, that was already a few years old, I bought one thats about 3 times as powerful from hp for 1/3 the price... and this ones motherboard wasnt discontinued when they sold it to me, so im ganna stick with my hp and say screw alienware, unless they pre install my money back, then i might buy another one.
