Wii players rejoice, it looks like Nintendo is finally going to offer you demos for those silly WiiWare games you know and love. There's no question that gamers deserve a 'try before you buy' model that applies to all games. That is especially true when you consider the price of video games in comparison to quality of the average game. One thing Microsoft has gotten right is telling developers they must have a demo for their Xbox Live Arcade games.

The talk of WiiWare demos was brought up by Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata at a recent company earnings briefing. He told investors that the demos would only cover a few games at first, just enough to see if it gets more players buying. He then went on to say that he doesn't feel demos are even the solution to WiiWare sales. That could be true, but gamers like it if you go the extra mile to satisfy them.

I was hoping for more details, but it looks like Nintendo hasn't officially talked about this yet. We can only hope that the demos will make it to our neck of the woods when they do decide to roll them out.

I wish that a demo had been available before I blew 1000 Nintendo Points on Bomberman Blast.
