The following ten games are the worst reviewed titles released to date for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. A few caveats: In those instances in which a game appears on multiple platforms, the lowest score was used. Downloadable are not included on this list. Finally, I've taken a few of the Metacritic quotes and posted them for each game, so you can see what the original reviewers thought. With that, let the hatin' begin!
10. Damnation
Metacritic Score (PS3): 36
Blue Omega's vision is buried under so many layers of clumsy gameplay and painful cinematics that the glimmers of the game that could have been just can't stem the tide. - Play
That's from one of the few positive reviews Damnation received. Easily the best-looking game on this list, that wasn't enough to keep it from horrible reviews, thanks to serious glitches, sloppy gameplay and pretty much every other technical fault you can name.
9. Bomberman: Act Zero
Metacritic Score (360): 34
Bomberman Act: Zero is a perfect example of what happens when game developers have good intentions, but bad ideas. - GamerNode
One of the most misguided relaunches of all time, Hudson took the cute, cuddly Bomberman and made him "dark and edgy." The also removed all the fun from the game, with a single-player mode that was so damn near impossible no one even bothered with the passable multiplayer.
8. Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire
Metacritic Score (PS3): 31
I have nothing positive to say about this game. I even hate the menu screen. Perhaps the best thing I can come up with is that this miserable piece of trash is so awful that it's destined to be the worst-selling game of the PS3 launch. - Game Informer
By far the worst game of the PS3 launch, Crossfire was a total mess. Bland, boring, frustrating and ugly, Crossfire was a disaster. Nothing says action like tons of obscure menu screens!
7. Vampire Rain: Altered Species
Metacritic Score (PS3): 30
It's like the developers didn't even play the games that they were blatantly ripping off. - 1UP
Everyone hated this stealth-action mess on Xbox 360, and the PS3 port fared even worse. Take a look at that screenshot - can you believe it's from a game that came out in 2008?
6. ShellShock 2: Blood Trails
Metacritic Score (360): 30
Shellshock 2 is a scandalous FPS made with no apparent knowledge of the genre, little but contempt for its audience, and few tools beyond a spluttering engine and a hammer. - Edge
Everyone loves games about the morally difficult Vietnam War, right? No? Well, then let's add some zombies. That should solve the problem.
