The Girl At The Video Game Store

Posted by David Savage at 6:44 PM Jul 10, 2009

Attack of the Show has had its ups and downs on its way to 1000 episodes. Kevin Rose's departure and later Sarah Lane's departure were some sad moments for old-school TechTV fans. However, Olivia Munn's arrival marked a whole new era in the show's history; an era of hotness (which by the way is shown extremely well in this video). And since Olivia came to AOTS, some great moments have happened. I may not be able to recall them all, but I know many of them involved her and that's all that matters to me (and many of you as well...probably).

This video below was made to celebrate those 1000 episodes (and Olivia Munn). It's a special made music video of a song by Parry Gripp of Nerf Herder called "The Girl at The Video Store". Need I say more? No, watch! (after the jump)

devin, i think you didn't notice the category the video was filed under: humor. like all other music video clips made by AOTS, this one is supposed to be for jokes. by the by, thats not a band. you obviously don't watch AOTS. and seeing how you posted this on a saturday night at 10pm, i would suggest you get some friends that might teach you something about humor and take you out at night. no offence, but just saying

An old-school TechTV fighting game would be awesome. I presume Leo would be E. Honda?

I wasn't expecting much, but that song had great professional production value. The video was done well, the song was fluid and well written, all around I was impressed. It is obvious who ever is hating on the quality of song/production value has never tried to write lyrics/produce music. Hats off to the creators for a fine job.

Yeah, I worked at Gamestop for 2 years until 4 months ago. No employee EVER wants to give out their gamertag to a customer, unless they know said customer outside of work, or they're an extremely attractive female. I call shenanigans!
(and there were cute chicks working at my store too, so...yeah.)

I am disgruntled at G4 for this video. It implies that few women like gaming, and illustrates that the women who do are going to be stalked by creepy guys (also implying that gamers lack any form of social skills and all the males look like losers). I honestly was expecting something more from G4 than pushing a gamer stereotype.

Catchy and cool man, I digg it!

I always enjoyed watching what would happen when a hot chick happened to stroll into my local comic store. All the nerdy guys there would tense up and begin trying to one-up each other by displaying the size of their brains and thinking they're being clever, smooth and witty (which they totally were not). It was like watching a Discovery Channel special about really dysfunctional mating rituals that proceed extinction. I, on the other hand, knew not to even bother since I'm hopeless at flirting.

Olivia Munn is one step away from having sex on tv with am over weight guy who plays WOW 90% of the day win his grandmother's basment. Why? Because G4 thinks it will help its ratings...

Olivia Munn wants to be Morgen Webb soooo bad.

Why is this not a Rock Band and Guitar Hero download? Man, this would sell a million copies. Like it or hate it there would be a fan base as there is now and they would pay for the download. Who ever marketed this should be flogged and sent back to marketing 101.

I'd download this one as well...

In August of last year we opened a new video game store, Game Warehouse. I wanted to see if you would be interested in doing a report. We have worked hard this year to build a good reputation, and have expanded dramatically. We have sponsored guitar hero contest for local schools like Millwood middle school and Haver Hill elementary school to help kids and parents be more involved with the schools and each other and have been invited back this year to host again. With our store in portage MI. we are now looking at opening another store in the West Main area of Michigan. Starting in September we will be offering new video games for sale. Our repairs have more than tripled since last year and i think the public is loving our niche, giving them another option besides just buying a new game system. With our website we are now able to offer our repairs world wide. Also we have been more than competitive with other game stores including the big branches like Game Stop and Game Crazy by offering and guaranteeing lower prices and offering alot more for trade-in on pre-owned video games. We have added more to our repairs by now offering repairs on laptops and desktop computers, cellphones and Ipods. This has been a huge success with even big companies giving us referrals like ATT, Verizon,Wal-Mart and even Game Stop. I think in this day and age and with the way the economy is, giving people the option to fix their electronics for less than half the price of it used is a great thing to write about.
