Not so Bad

To help ease the aching void in my soul left by all games that aren't Fallout 3, I picked up Sega's much-maligned Incredible Hulk game the other day. I figured something mindless and disposable might be what the doctor ordered, and I loved its spiritual predecessor, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. I fired it up, expecting the worst, and was pleasantly surprised to discover... it's not that bad. Sure, it's got a glitchy camera, some lame missions and spotty graphics, but the core gameplay is fun in a casual, low-stress kind of way. The Incredible Hulk certainly wouldn't have made onto my Best of 2008 list had I played it earlier, but I'm not regretting the $25 bucks I dropped on it either.

While I thought 2008 had as many disappointments as it did shining moments, it's nice to spend some time with a lesser game and enjoy it. So, to build off my request for your top games of the year, what games did you enjoy that perhaps aren't Game of the Year material?

I have been a happy PS3 owner for a while now, but bought my boys an Xbox 360 for Xmas, and got myself BioShock.
Good lord in heaven that game is amazing.
Of course I'm about a year or two late on that one.
This year though, I thought Resistance 2 was excellent time-killing fodder.
Not game of the year by any means, but the expansive multiplayer co-op can be so much fun.
I honestly think that game could have been so much better if they would have let that saucy little English girl narrate again, but I digress.
