Dammit.

Just when I thought I might be moving on with my life, just when I believed I may have actually kicked my Fallout 3 habit, Bethesda unleashes the first screens of the first Fallout 3 DLC, Operation Anchorage. Roughly a five hour quest with new gear and a new perk called Covert Ops, Operation Anchorage is a simulation of a part of the Fallout franchise history that has never appeared in one of the games. Exclusive to Xbox 360 and PC, the expansion will cost a very reasonable 800 Microsoft points/$10.

I was always planning on playing through all three DLC updates, but these details have really pushed me over the edge. You see, to access the new content, you must travel to a specific location in the main game. Since Operation Anchorage hits this month, looks like I'll be starting my second playthrough sooner than I thought. Like tonight.

I've got a PS3, which I just bought over Thanksgiving after much hand-wringing/garment-rending trying to decide between that or an XBox 360 (the Wii wasn't seriously considered for some reason, even though I like Nintendo). Years ago I loved Morrowind (PC version), and just started playing Fallout 3 last night for the first time. Not surprisingly in the few short hours that I've played so far I'm loving it.

I've heard that they aren't planning to make any downloadable content available for the PS3 version, only for the Windows and XBox 360 version, which is disappointing. I have to imagine Bethesda has a deal worked out with Microsoft which I'm mature enough to understand happens, no matter how $hitty it is.

Anyhow, this is all my long way of asking what is the likelihood you feel that they'll re-release Fallout 3 for the PS3 with the additional scenarios included? Bethesda did it for Oblivion. Had I known the other night when I was choosing between Fallout 3 and Oblivion game-of-the-year edition that the pending downloadable content for Fallout 3 was basically Microsoft-product only, I would have likely chosen differently in the hopes that by the time I was done with Oblivion that the "game of the year" version of Fallout 3 would be done.

In your opinion, do you foresee a re-release for Fallout 3 on the PS3 with extra content?

The odds of an eventual GOTY edition of Fallout 3 are, I'd say, pretty high. Bethesda doesn't do a lot of games, so they tend to re-release their titles with added content. The three DLC packs were announced as Microsoft-exclusive, but then again, the Knights of the Nine content for Oblivion was originally PS3-exclusive, and that eventually showed up in the 360 version.

So yeah, I think near the end of this year, there will be a Fallout 3 re-release will all the additional content for both 360 and PS3.

If it's anything like Knights of the Nine, pass.

Im a PS3 fan and I own a PS3 version of FO3. I did'nt got a french copy of the game (since I speak french) and the game often crash, when other games I own never crashed like that. There is a law in my province (Quebec) about games must be in French now.Its ok, I understand perfectly english. I love the game, one of the best game I ever played! Just Beth almost ignoring the PS3 and botching our platform version. It was ok until,I heard about the dlc. NOW IM ANGRY! Those evil guy with deep pockets from MS are stealing our fun, and Beth is playing the game. Wake up Beth! Just look the sales! You sold more ps3 games than pc game! Just think about it! You'll do more money with the ps3 dlc than with microsoft offer! LOTS of people like me love the game and passed through EVERYTHING. Plz think to us a second.
P.S: Why I did not bought the computer version? My computer always crash due partially to my unstable hardware. I will upgrade it with good stuff within some months. I wanted to play the game NOW(bought game at the release) on a stable machine.
Also, heu, sorry for bad typing, im on my iPod touch since my computer je dead for the moment.
